Mequity Companies is a real estate group focused on the development, construction and operation of self storage facilities.  Mequity’s primary markets are the cities and surrounding metropolitan areas of New York City / Northern New Jersey / Connecticut; Boston; Philadelphia / Southern New Jersey; Atlanta; and Miami / South Florida.  The company’s principals, Bill Marsh and Robert Holly, are industry veterans, with deep connections in the self storage sector.

Mequity is one of the top developers of institutional-quality self storage facilities in the country.  Since 2017, Mequity has closed on over $320 million in self storage development projects representing approximately 1.6 million square feet of space.

PRINCIPALS

Bill Marsh
Chief Executive Officer / Principal Owner

Bill is the founder, CEO, and a Principal Owner of Mequity.  Bill is responsible for Mequity’s overall strategy and execution as well as major corporate and financial relationships.

Bill has served in several executive roles in the real estate and construction industries, including as Chief Investment Officer of Winter Properties and as Senior Developer with Miller-Valentine Group.  Bill also served as Senior Vice President of Real Estate at Storage Post Self Storage, where his department was responsible for the repositioning, renovation, construction, and development of self storage facilities in the company’s portfolio.  This role included direct involvement in over $500 million of storage acquisitions, construction and development, primarily in the New York and South Florida markets.  Bill received Bachelor of Science Degrees with highest honors in both Management and Building Construction from the Georgia Institute of Technology, as well as an MBA with honors in Finance and Real Estate from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Robert Holly
Chief Operating Officer / Principal Owner

Robert is the COO and a Principal Owner in Mequity.  Robert is primarily responsible for overseeing the execution and delivery of Mequity’s construction and development projects.

Robert has extensive experience in the construction and development industries including work in the single-family, multi-family, hospitality, retail and self-storage sectors.  For 17 years, Robert led a New York City-based construction firm focused on high-end residential projects as well as restaurant and hospitality work, primarily in Manhattan and Brooklyn.  Most recently, Robert served as Vice President of Construction for Storage Post Self Storage, where he oversaw project management for the company’s numerous self storage construction, repositioning, and renovation jobs.  Robert received an Artium Baccalaureus degree with honors in Foreign Languages from Rollins College as well as a Master of Science degree with honors in Environmental Design from Pratt Institute and a Master of Science in Real Estate from Columbia University in New York City.

EXECUTIVES

Jennifer McMiller, CPA, CGMA
Chief Accounting and Administration Officer / Owner

Jennifer is Chief Accounting and Administration Officer and is an Owner in Mequity.  Jennifer’s primarily responsibilities include accounting and reporting for all of Mequity’s affiliated entities.

Jennifer has extensive experience in accounting, including as a Senior Auditor with Ernst & Young, as a Joint Venture Accountant with multifamily developer Wood Partners, and as Controller for Storage Post Self Storage, where she oversaw the accounting department.  Jennifer received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Georgia and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Virginia.

Chris Prince
General Counsel / Owner

Chris Prince is General Counsel at Mequity.  Chris is primarily responsible for coordinating Mequity’s legal, risk management, and compliance functions, with heavy emphasis on capital markets work.

Prior to Mequity, Chris served as General Counsel for Priority Technology Holdings, Inc., which he represented from an early stage privately held company to one of the largest fintech payment processors in the United States at the time of his exit, advising Priority through its go-public transaction in 2018 (NASDAQ: PRTH).  For his service, Chris was recognized in 2017 by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as “General Counsel of the Year” for small to mid-size in-house legal departments in the State of Georgia.

Chris began his career at the international law firm of King & Spalding LLP, where he was a member of the Contracting Construction & Procurement, Corporate, Technology, and Global Transactions practice groups, focusing on private equity, M&A, joint venture and strategic alliances for a range of clients and industries.  Prior to joining King & Spalding, Chris served as law clerk to Justice Hugh P. Thompson, Supreme Court of Georgia.  Chris received his B.A., magna cum laude, in history and political science with a minor in economics from Mercer University, and later also received his J.D., cum laude, from Mercer University.

Bob Calta
Senior Project Manager

Bob is Senior Project Manager at Mequity.  Bob is primarily responsible for managing the general contractors, design professionals, consultants, and other requirements of Mequity’s development projects during their construction phase.

Bob has served in numerous construction project management roles over the years, including fifteen years with Westinghouse Savannah River Co.  Bob is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and is experience in Project Management Office (PMO) processes throughout all phases of project management.  Bob holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Pratt Institute as well as a Masters in Organizational Leadership and Project Management from Regis University.
